《替身杀手》讲述一名中国内地的“冷脸杀手”李强，为了将妈妈和姐姐从上海带回美国，于是向纽约曼哈顿一名亚裔匪首魏先生贷款。而同时，魏家的儿子在缉毒行动中被杀，斯坦警官则是击杀魏先生儿子的人。魏先生以借款为由，希李强杀死了斯坦警官年只7岁的儿子。然而李强在千钧一发之际，终于下定决心，枪口下饶了这个无辜的孩子。但与此同时，李强的这个决定却引来了灭顶之灾。他的家庭也面临着危险。李强为了保护自己的家人，找到好友梅格，并利用假护照与其在机场见面。不过，魏先生请来的杀手却是知道了他的行踪，一场你死我活的追杀就此展开。
